On Sunday February 6, 2011 I braved the cold and took the plunge....the Polar Plunge that is! Polar Plunge events are held all over the United States and proceeds are used to benefit various selected charities. This year's Delaware Plunge raised funds for the Special Olympics. 3,094 people took the plunge and $550,000 was raised all together. I say running into the ocean in 40 degree weather is worth $550,000!!! I was on Team "Mr. and Mrs. Delaware" with my oh so supportive Husband Geoff! We also met up with Emily Rufo, Miss Atlantic Coast's Outstanding Teen 2011. Can't wait to support Emily in her quest to become Miss Delaware's Outstanding Teen 2011 (March 2011) and am proud of all of her hard work thus far.
