For the past 3 years or so, I knew that my Dad had another daughter before me. However, he didn't know where she lived, her last name, etc. He did know that she had struggled with Breast Cancer at some point in her life. That information really set me off! If you know me, then you know that I am the type of person who never lets anything go. When I don't like something, want to know something, or am disappointed in something, I keep pursuing it until it is rectified. I just couldn't imagine how someone can have another child and not know that child. I was disappointed in my Dad. But more importantly, I wanted the opportunity to know my sister. Well, he finally found her and I can't be more excited! She even contacted me on Facebook! Funny thing, she looks EXACTLY like my Dad. It's eerie! She is about 38, lives in Florida, and has 4 daughters. I can't wait to get to know all about her and her life. We need to make up for lost time!

Wow, that is eerie... You never told me!
ReplyDeleteMy Dad has a half sister that I don't really know well and she's actually a Delta! My Dad and his Dad were not really close. I would love to get to know her better because my grandfather died when I was a little girl. She has a weird genetic disorder that makes her hands cold and hard and I'm always concerned that I'm going to get it. It freaks me out a little that there are health issues from that side of my family that I know nothing about. When I fill out medical history forms and they ask you if parents or grandparents have had those issues it makes me leary!!!
