Good Friends, Good Food, Good Wine, Good Talks!

A true friend will strengthen you with his prayers, bless you with his love, and encourage you with his hope.

Last weekend, Tenesha Bunch (one of my best and oldest friends--5th grade) and her family travelled to Delaware for their annual visit. On Friday evening, we spent time strolling through Rittenhouse Square, having cocktails, shopping, people watching, and eating Philly Cheesesteaks. The next day we had a small BBQ and invited a few other families to join the festivities. My dearest New Jersey Girlfriend, Mari Montes, travelled down with her family. I don't get to see these ladies on a regular basis so it was really good catching up! We hadn't missed a beat. Sometimes we all get bogged down with life and don't connect or speak as much as I would like. However, we always pick up where we left off.

Although we had some late nights, my batteries were totally recharged after their visit. Being around those who have a true, proven, and unconditional love for me is so strengthening. I felt like I could conquer the world. I was reminded of Joel Osteen quote I posted on facebook recently. It read, ‎"The clock is ticking on your destiny. Don't waste another moment with people who don't sharpen you. Make sure your inner circle are people that are not just with you, but really for you. Connect with people that understand your destiny. People who celebrate your uniqueness. If you don't make a change, they can prevent you from getting there. Iron sharpens iron! " I got an overwhelming response from this particular quote. It spoke to others as much as it spoke to me. People like Tenesha and Mari exemplify these friendship ideals. They challenge me to continue to achieve great things, delight in the person that I am today, and live by the same values that I live by. And at the end of the day, they know EVERYTHING about me, and still love me....that's what I call true friendship!

Pic below of all of the couples! Oh yeah...guys were here too. They had some guy time. Pay no attention to me. I'm fresh out of the pool.
