The City!
This weekend we celebrated Geoff's 33rd Birthday in Style! We drove up to NYC. Stayed in the Sofitel Hotel. Went to a Lion King Matinee (AMAZING!). Had a Fantabulous Dinner with Mari and Chris at Delfrisco's--my new favorite restaurant! Mucho Dinero, but ridiculously yummy! I am so glad there is another location in Philadelphia. After dinner we went to Caroline's on Broadway and saw an Eddie Griffin stand up show. While I love my life, I miss "the city"! Eddie Griffin said that New York City is the only place that you can truly call "The City". Other places may have a metropolitan area and they can be referred to as "A City". But NYC can solely claim the title of "The City". Anyhoo, I miss that environment! It is so invigorating and energizing. Last night, I felt young, empowered and ready to take on the world. I felt like I felt when I was fresh out of college. While I lived in North Jersey, and not exactly in "the city", being 15 minutes away wasn't too bad. Coming from Virginia, NYC was my land of opportunity. Living in that area molded me into such a confident, self-assured, and exposed person. Who knows what the future holds. Maybe "the city" is in our future! But right now, the market is in shambles so the Williams Family is staying put! But we will be visiting more often.
